Day 12 - Colorful -this is a Mexican pot my father-in-law gave us, we love the vibrant colors, they remind us of Jim, he was a colorful man. A World War II navy pilot and then a commercial pilot until he retired, you would have thought he was a precise, play it by the rules kind of guy, but he had a live life colorfully side, as well. There wasn't a thing he couldn't build or fix or at least make it work, even if not for it's intended purpose. We went to many an auction together, and he found beauty in the most rusted, long past they usefulness stuff, especially old floor grates from heating vents. Jim would get them sandblasted and primed and then paint them in vibrant colors to look like a Rembrandt masterpiece when he was done. We lost Jim a few years back and we miss him, but every time I walk past this vase or one of his grates, I smile and think of him.
